Hooverphonic是一支比利时的三人梦幻流行乐队，在他们的新专辑中，乐队开创性地从他们1998年专辑“Blue Wonder Power Milk”中描绘的那仿佛冰冷安宁的大海景色，向这第三张专辑“The Magnificent Tree”中的阴暗情感转变。Geike Arnaert嗓音中所体现出的古典清新美仍出色地抒发着那乐队标志性的朦胧而轻盈的情感，在乐队前几张专辑中，她将这种特点发挥至及至。然而象“Pink Fluffy Dinosaurs”和“Frosted Flake Wood”的编曲相当深奥难懂，极难加以界定。乐队总创作者及编排者Alex Callier和吉他手Raymond Geerts加入了更多缓慢而忧郁的多重乐器演奏，目的是要创造出更为抽象的舞台效果，而从另一个方面来说，Hooverphonic独有而成熟的音乐成分也没有遮蔽先前乐队所抛弃的那华丽而流畅的音响背景。象单曲“Out of Sight”和“Mad About You”以接近Julee Cruise般的歌喉烘托出完全的戏剧性氛围，为听众提供了广阔的想象空间。同时The Magnificent Tree也没有完全忽视音乐中的神秘感，当Hooverphonic在听众耳际缓缓舒展开音乐氛围时，听众会对这支乐队的特点更加了解。这张专辑从各方面来说都算是成功的，Hooverphonic以改良的new wave元素与合成的流行乐的结合确实尽善尽美。
而乐队的音乐似乎离厂牌的音乐类型相去甚远，但仍十分体现代表着厂牌的音乐影响。
